Day 1 Ulaanbaatar: City Tour
In the morning, we’ll embark on a city tour of Ulaanbaatar, visiting some of the capital’s most iconic sites. Start with a visit to Gandantegchinlen Monastery, Mongolia’s largest and most important Buddhist center, where you can see the majestic 26-meter-tall statue of Avalokitesvara. Then head to the National Museum of Mongolia to explore its rich history and culture. After lunch, we’ll visit the Zaisan Memorial, a hilltop monument that offers panoramic views of the city. In the evening, stroll around Sukhbaatar Square and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2 Amarbayasgalant
After breakfast, we will drive north to visit Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of Mongolia’s most beautiful and well-preserved Buddhist monasteries. Nestled in the Iven Valley, this 18th-century architectural masterpiece offers a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Upon arrival, we’ll tour the monastery, learning about its historical significance and the monks’ way of life. In the afternoon, you’ll have time to explore the surrounding valley on foot and enjoy the peaceful ambiance.

Day 3 Uran Togoo
Today we journey to the spectacular Uran Togoo volcano, an extinct volcanic crater located in the Bulgan province. After a scenic drive, we’ll hike up to the rim of the crater, which offers fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. The crater itself is now home to a small lake and lush vegetation, making it a great place to explore. We’ll take time to enjoy the view and have a picnic lunch before descending.

Day 4/5 Khovsgol Lake
In the morning, we set off for the stunning Khovsgol Lake, Mongolia’s largest freshwater lake, often called the “Blue Pearl of Mongolia.” Upon arrival, take a moment to breathe in the fresh air and admire the crystal-clear waters surrounded by forested mountains. In the afternoon, we’ll visit a local Tsaatan reindeer herder family to learn about their unique way of life. Afterward, you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the lake’s shore.
Next day is a full day to relax and enjoy the beauty of Khovsgol Lake. Later in the afternoon, we’ll head out on a boat tour / optional / to explore more of the lake’s stunning vistas.

Day 6 Murun
Today we will head to Murun, the provincial capital of Khovsgol. On the way, we’ll stop by the Uushig Deer Stones, a fascinating archaeological site featuring carved stones that date back thousands of years. You’ll learn about the significance of these mysterious stones, which are thought to have been used as ancient grave markers. Afterward, we’ll continue to Murun for a brief tour of the town before settling into our accommodation.

Day 7/8 Terkh White Lake
Today we’ll travel to the beautiful Terkh White Lake. The lake is located in a volcanic area and is known for its stunning beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Once we arrive, we’ll set up camp by the lakeshore and spend the afternoon exploring the surrounding area. You can take a leisurely walk along the shore or opt for a kayaking excursion to get closer to the lake’s pristine waters. In the evening, relax by the campfire and enjoy the natural beauty.
Next day at Terkh White Lake, we will go to Khorgo Volcano, or explore the surrounding volcanic rock formations. After a day of adventure, we’ll return to camp and take in the breathtaking sunset over the lake.

Day 9 Tsenkher Hot Spring
In the morning, we’ll drive to the famous Tsenkher Hot Springs, nestled in the forested hills of Arkhangai province. Upon arrival, you’ll have the chance to soak in the natural hot springs, which are said to have healing properties. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the beautiful surroundings, with optional short hikes or horseback riding available.

Day 10 Kharkhorin
Today we head to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Upon arrival, we’ll visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, built from the ruins of the ancient city. We’ll explore the monastery complex and learn about its rich history before visiting the nearby Kharkhorin Museum. In the evening, take a walk along the Orkhon River.

Day 11 Khogno khan National Park
Today we’ll travel to Khogno Khan National Park, a striking mix of desert, forest, and mountain landscapes. Upon arrival, we’ll hike up to the Uvgon Monastery, hidden among the cliffs. Afterward, enjoy a camel ride through the nearby Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, a smaller version of the Gobi’s vast dunes. We’ll spend the evening relaxing in this peaceful setting.

Day 12 Khustai National Park
In the morning, we head to Khustai National Park, home to the famous Przewalski’s horses (takhi), Mongolia’s wild horses. Afterward, we’ll take a gentle hike in the park’s beautiful hills.

Day 13 Terelj National Park
Today, we explore Terelj National Park, famous for its dramatic rock formations and picturesque landscapes. You’ll have time to relax and take in the stunning surroundings before returning to tourist camp.
